Call for abstracts
Preface:
2nd International Conference on Iraqi Oil Studies (ICOS2013) will be held in Baghdad in the Jadiriyah campus within the College of Science, University of Baghdad at 10-12 December 2013 synchronous within celebration of Baghdad Capital of the Arabic culture.
It will be held under the slogan:-
"Iraqi Oil is Goodness and Blessing to Iraqi's"
Oil and gas fields in Iraq are distributed in geographic locations with giant oil fields toward the east and giant gas field toward the west of Iraq, except Diala region that have separated gas and oil fields in the north east. Farther more, their reservoirs are scattered in subsurface stratigraphic successions of Cretataceous in the Mesopotamian Basin with giant oil fields in Basrah, Emara and Baghdad Governorates, Tertiary in the Zagross Fold Belt within gas and oil fields such as giant oil field in Kirkuk with some gas fields toward Sulaimaniya Governorate, and Lower Paleozoic in Widian Basin with giant gas field in Akkas near the Euphrates River entrance from Syria while NW Iraq could have Triassic oil.
Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the oil studies; this conference will be organized by the Departments of Geology and Chemistry with cooperation of the Ministry of Oil to include up to date geological, biological and chemical technologies in oil exploration and distillations.
This conference is aimed for display hydrocarbon field studies and their distillations that would be submitted by university academicians and experts of oil companies as well as exchange key learning and challenges which would be in the campus of the University of Baghdad.
